American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Through successful completion of this course, students will have gained the knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Registration begins March 1st, space is limited and classes will fill fast. Enrollment will be limited to 15 participants and the course will last approx. 40 hours. Attendance to every class meeting and successful demonstration of all skills, as well as an 80% on the written exam are mandatory to pass the course. Students will learn all the skills needed to become certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Course books and CPR masks are included. Please bring a bathing suit, towel, sack lunch, drink, pen, paper, and a change of clothes to every meeting.
Prerequisites: Participants must be 15 years of age by the completion of the course and must be able to swim Front Crawl or Breaststroke 300 yds, complete a 25 yard brick swim, and tread water for 2 minutes. Participants will be tested at the beginning of the first class. No refunds for those who do not meet prerequisites. Certification is good for 2 years.
