The AMLD Board of Directors have approved a new contract for Solid Waste. After much deliberation the decision has been made to reward the contract to Central Waste & Recycling. The AMLD Solid Waste Contract with Republic Services will end Dec 31, 2017. A new contract with Central Waste & Recycling will begin on Jan 1, 2018. Republic Services will continue service for our residents through Dec 31, 2017. Any new residents will need to use Republic Services for the short period before the Central Waste contract is in effect. Central Waste & Recycling may have already reached out to many of you to obtain account information. It is their goal to have everyone set up with new accounts by Nov 1st, 2017. Please email them at
[email protected] to set up a new account or
fill out the form at this link. They need your address, name, phone and email to set up your account. Central Waste & Recycling will provide service for our neighborhood with the existing schedule. So, if your trash and recycle day is on a Wednesday, for example, then it will continue to be serviced on a Wednesday.
Central Waste & Recycling will also provide weekly recycling pick up for the entire neighorhood. Beginning Jan 2018 you will now take your trash and recycling to the curb every week. Bulky pick up will still be once a month but the structure of the schedule will be slightly different.
Beginning in Jan, 2018 with the new contract the bulky pick up will be the 1st full week of the month and you will place your bulky pick up at the curb on your regularly scheduled trash & recycling day. So, the entire neighborhood will not place their bulky items out on one day. It will be split up throughout the neighborhood according to your regularly scheduled service day.
Central Waste & Recycling is owned by Michael Mnoian and is a small local company that will be able to provide great customer service.
The current quarterly price with Republic Services is $55.85 with sales tax, (every 3 months). The new quarterly price with Central Waste & Recycling will be $60.00 with sales tax, (every 3 months). More information will be posted on social media and signs throughout the neighborhood as we get closer to the transistion date. If you have any questions or concerns you can contact us through the website on comments/complaints or email directly to [email protected] or call the main office at (512) 258-4104. New trash and recycle containers will be delivered in December and they will be sealed with a note telling you when to begin using them. The trash and recycle containers will be the same size that we currently have, 96 gallons. Once the new cans are delivered just keep them sealed and do not use them until Jan 1, 2018.
